Instacrypt App — macOS

Install

  1. Open the .dmg.
  2. Drag Instacrypt into Applications.

First launch (Gatekeeper)

The app isn't notarized yet, so macOS will block the app from launching and call it corrupted. To bypass this, run the following command before launching the app: 

xattr -cr /Applications/Instacrypt.app

Hardware keys

YubiKey challenge-response on macOS requires the Input Monitoring permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring) from this app — the YubiKey's OTP interface is a keyboard, and macOS gates it. This is the same permission ykman and KeePassXC need.

There is a known issues with the build for intel-based macs not being able to read hardware keys for challenge response.
